07/07/08 -TierOne Signs Agreements to Purchase WISP’s Aggregating 4,000 Customers in DFW, Texas
Dallas, Texas: July 07, 2008 – TierOne Networks signed letters of intent to acquire several WISPs in the DFW market. All
transactions are expected to close in the third quarter and are expected to create the largest WISP in the DFW market. “The
acquisitions create economies of scale for TierOne allowing TierOne to maintain its’ status as the low cost provider of high
quality broadband access in rural DFW,” said Kevin Weaver, CEO.
The acquisitions positions TierOne as the market share leader and will permit the use of advertising on radio and on certain
targeted cable television shows. “We expect these acquisitions to create critical mass for TierOne in several areas, including the
ability to raise institutional private equity”, said Ron Celmer, CFO. “In fact, several institutions are in due diligence and we expect
a substantial portion of the acquisition funding to come from private equity funds.”
