5/1/07 - TierOne Converged Networks Hires
CTO and COO from Zyterra Solutions.
Dallas, TX May 1, 2007 - TierOne Converged Networks, a Dallas based
Wireless Internet Service Provider, announced today that it has hired
Senior Executives from Zyterra Solutions. TierOne has appointed Nick
Fratantoni to the position of Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and Kim
Marshall to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). In these
newly created positions, Nick and Kim will report to Kevin Weaver,
TierOne’s President and CEO. The company also announced it terminated
merger discussions with Zyterra Solutions.
About Nick Fratantoni
Nick Fratantoni leverages his entrepreneurial and broad industry experience
in senior IT leadership, engineering development, and sales. Mr. Fratantoni
was a Partner and Vice President of Business Development for Zyterra
Solutions. Zyterra had been in business for five years as a wired and
wireless network solutions implementer.
Mr. Fratantoni also served as the regional sales manager for Clarent Corporation
specializing in the Voice over IP space to both the carrier and enterprise
markets.
He previously held the position of Principal Staff Engineer at Motorola and Chief
Network Architect for AudioNet which went public as Broadcast.com and
was later sold to Yahoo. Nick brings a deep background in the industry
spanning over 30 years of service in both engineering and sales.
Mr. Fratantoni has also held senior positions and served as a technical advisor
and consultant to Kodak Health Imaging, AMR's SABRE Computer Systems
Division, American Telephone & Telegraph, Electronic Data Systems,
NASA and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Office of Finance and
Management where he specialized in the design and integration of systems
for data transport, and network management.
In a special advisory position to Scientific Atlanta, Mr. Fratantoni provided
an integrated satellite based (VSAT) data delivery system for Thai
Farmers Bank in Bangkok, Thailand. Working in-country for six months
to install and commission the system and insure a clean transition
and technology transfer to Samart Telcoms engineering group for continued
support of their clients AS400 based ATM banking infrastructure.
About Kim Marshall
Kim Marshall is a skilled professional with extensive experience in customer
operations, technical support, quality and product initiatives in both start-up
and large corporate environments.
Over the past 15 years Mr. Marshall has planned and directed infrastructure initiatives
and expansions in 17 countries for a number of very successful telecom equipment
manufacturers and service providers including Taqua Systems, Compaq Computers,
Tandem Telecom, DSC Communications, Touch America and WTCI.
Mr. Marshall earned his degree in Industrial Electronics from Montana State University
and holds an MBA and Doctorate in Business Administration from Trinity College.
